Chairman - Robin Elt
A family heritage of footwear in Worcester since 1872 gave Robin a chance to hone his skills with the Church & Co PLC group. As Buying Director his role grew from 27 to 135 stores, spread throughout the UK.
With this experience under his belt, in 1992 he relaunched the family busines using the Church St, Malvern branch as his base. Robin Elt shoes now has 6 shoe and 2 outdoor stores throughout the West of England - with more to come!
Robin will oversee all aspects of GMAT and be the figurehead on behalf of the traders.
Vice-Chair – Anna Brook
Anna grew up in Malvern and opened iapetus gallery in 2005 on belle vue terrace. She gained a BA Honours degree in sculpture in Cornwall and is very influenced by coastal galleries. Since opening Iapetus she has become involved in events around the town and in the rejuvenation of GMAT. She has a creative instinct and is keen to improve the perception of Great Malvern both in the minds of locals and visitors.
Anna’s role will be to develop GMAT into a prosperous association that delivers tangible benefits for its members through targeted events, marketing and communications.
Secretary – Fran Doidge
Fran Doidge, owner of The Centre For Wellbeing for 5 years has a BSc in Physiology and Biochemistry and has been Treasurer of the International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists (IFPA) for 3 years.
Aromatherapy is my passion and educating the public about the benefits of complementary therapy as a whole; to relax and restore. As we occupy one of the traditional buildings in Malvern (with its wonderful back garden) I am keen to promote our history but also bring to it up to date for everyone to enjoy.
Fran will co-ordinate all internal communications within the association including minutes, notifications and general news.
Treasurer – Vicki Walker
Co-owner of the Knitting Parlour on Graham Road, established in 2005. BA (Hons) Philosophy from Lancaster University, Chartered Management Accountant (CIMA qualified) since 2004. Worked as a Management Accountant at QinetiQ from 2000-2005 and Treasurer of West Malvern Toddlers from 2005-2007.
Vicki will be responsible for the co-ordination of all financial aspects of GMAT, from subscription collection to producing accounts at the end of the financial year.
Communications – Chris Marks
Chris is co-owner of iapetus gallery. He graduated in 2001 with a BA (Hons) Business Studies from the University of Derby. Subsequently he has developed and managed the digital communications for various Automotive, FMCG, and Pharmaceutical brands. Chris joined iapetus in May 2007 to launch their first e-commerce website - iapetus.co.uk.
Chris’ role will be to ensure that all communications regarding GMAT both external and within are timely, consistent, positive and accurate.
