Great Malvern’s is ready to bloom again!

Last year, Great Malvern Association of Traders (GMAT) teamed up with the Royal Horticultural Society and the Malvern Spring Gardening show to create Blooming Hills, a floral display competition aimed at promoting Great Malvern town centre. The event was a huge success, drawing in crowds of locals and visitors alike, many of whom had seen the event featured on BBC Gardeners World. The competition is happening again this year from the 7th – 10th May, and Blooming Hills looks set to become an annual event

Last years winners included Riding High Gallery, who created a 3D sculpture of Elgar’s delivery boy on his bike, Air Hairdressers, whose wild haired lady had everyone smiling, and Iapetus Gallery, who turned their window into Van Gogh’s studio, complete sunflowers painting. The judges were overwhelmed with what had been achieved, especially as it was their 1st attempt, and were particularly drawn to the humourous, weird and wonderful. You can see photos from Blooming
